A Deceptively Simple Way to Make Your Remote Workday More Productive and Enjoyable

How would you describe your ability to focus and get things done this past week?

➡ On point, getting a lot done!

➡ Meh, I'm starting to hate remote working

➡ Beating myself up because I keep putting off what's really important

➡ Scattershot, everything going on is crazy distracting

Any or all of the above?

I can so relate to all of these!

The world we're living in right now -- combined with these little computers we carry around 24/7 -- make it really hard to focus.

And life is not great when we can't focus.

Because what's behind that is likely stress, anxiety and overwhelm.

The other big issue is that when we can't focus, we aren't getting the things done that are most important to us.

My focus can get obliterated when I wake up and check my phone and see something crazy from the U.S. news cycle, or when COVID-19 strikes too close too home or when running a business amid so much uncertainty starts to rattle me.

Yet I know I can't lose focus, because I've got this business to run, clients to serve, a family to support, creative projects to bring to life. These things bring joy and purpose to my life.

There's so much depending on focus.

That's why I got so excited this summer when I discovered a brilliant way to make steady progress on my most important projects -- no matter what was going on around me.

I joined Caveday.

Caveday is a New York-based organization that holds daily "caves": online co-working sprints that help people dig into their projects with deep focus.

Here's how it works:

At the beginning of a one- or three-hour sprint you log into Zoom with a bunch of other people and are led through a short check-in by a Cave Guide.

Everyone says what one thing they will be working on for the sprint, then you go do it (camera on!).

At the end of the hour, everyone checks out by sharing what they got done.

Deceptively simple, and SO effective.

Since August, I’ve been using Caves for my work projects, and my productivity (and enjoyment of the workday) has totally shot up.

Amid so much social isolation, it's especially nice to have the extra structure and pleasant company.

On a given day, people in the Cave are finishing lesson plans, drafting proposals, revising novels, generating client leads, coding, editing video, making slide decks, etc. My favorite so far was an artist throwing clay on her pottery wheel.

It's an international, diverse crowd, with a fun, productive atmosphere.

Thanks to all my conversations with clients and colleagues, I also know that I'm not the only one struggling to focus and make headway on my most important (and difficult) projects.

So when I found Caveday, I contacted a co-founder and asked: How can I share this with everyone I know?!!

He made me their first affiliate partner ever, and gave me a code so you can try out a 3-Hour Cave for free.

  1. Click here for the schedule: https://www.caveday.org/schedule

  2. Select a 3-Hour Sprint

  3. Enter your name, email, phone and this code: L_LISA

What could you bring to your Cave?

  • A work project that you're having trouble moving forward.

  • A personal or creative project that you keep putting off.

  • The next step for your new business idea.

  • Research for your next career move.

  • Anything at all that you need focus for!

One more thing: If by the end of your first Cave, you're intrigued and want to try it for a whole week, you can get an additional 7-day free trial using this link:

It's becoming clear to me that in difficult times like these, maintaining focus on what's most important to us is a necessary, life-sustaining thing.

It's a radical, revolutionary thing.

It's a badass, powerful thing.

Here's one more tool for your toolkit. Go get 'em. 💪🏾

P.S. If you know someone else who could use Caveday for their own projects or to make their remote work day better, please send this to them! Anyone can use these links.

P.P.S. Another sign of my huge love for Caveday: I recently signed up to be a Cave Guide for the European time zone. So you may even get me as one of your guides some day, especially if you're Europe-based! 🤓

As I mentioned, I'm a Caveday affiliate partner, which means I may get a small commission from these links, at no extra cost to you.
