There are two very common assumptions about job searching.

    1

“It’s all a numbers game. I need to apply to as many online postings as I can, even a daily quota.”

    2

“This is basically a solo task — me putting in the time to look at job postings and putting together applications.”

Maybe these strategies worked in the past, but I don’t recommend them in today’s job market.

Job searching is not easy, for anybody. It also can be a pretty cold and unkind process.

In this workshop, I’m going to introduce you to a different job searching strategy, what I’m calling “The Supported Job Search.”

This is a more expansive approach that starts with you thinking about who can support you with your job search and then you reaching out in various ways.

Whether someone can offer moral support, mentoring or advice, or professional connections and introductions.

I use this approach with my clients and it helps them to sustain the energy and habits that are needed during a job search, helps them learn to communicate better about themselves and what they’re looking for, and to make connections that lead them to their next role.

    It works because:

    • A job search isn’t a numbers game and it’s going to be a big drain on your time and energy if you approach it that way.

    • Only applying online is not a solid job search strategy.

    • You need multiple strategies to find opportunities, and one of the most important is finding support through other people.

Join this FREE workshop to learn the key elements of a “Supported Job Search” and begin some hands-on exercises to start developing your key support list.

This workshop is a good fit if you:
